Storytelling Workshop for Kids

This workshop will help your child develop the confidence and skills to express themselves


It is led by Michael O'Leary, Hagstone Storyteller who has run oral storytelling workshops in local schools and festivals for over 20 years.


No need to be good at writing or reading: all you need is ears, a mouth and an imagination!


Michael will introduce the universal 'motifs' of storytelling that appear across the world, in many different cultures: the heroine / hero, the wise mentor, the dangerous quest, the villain, the lost treasure etc, and then guide the children how to construct and perfom a compelling tale from these elements.


A supportive, fun and nurturing atmosphere means even the shyest of kids can tap into their creativity and shine.


When: Saturday 31st May 2 till 4pm

Where: Southsea Community Cinema, Palmerston Road

Cost: £10 per child £15 for siblings
