Re:Play is a brand new event curated by a group of women committed to livening up the electronic music scene in Portsmouth. Re:Play aims to rewild the dancefloor by recentering play, creativity, environment and community. To facilitate the space for connection with nature and each other.
Removing the gap between spectator and creator Re:Play will be launching on Saturday, 31st May.
Participants are invited to join us on a walk at Farlington Marshes from 12-2pm then we will reconvene at Southsea Cinema and Arts Center for a Synth and Sampler Workshop with Open Decks and Spoken Word Open Mic starting at 5PM.
The night will be topped off with a live performance by someday, sky and a DJ set with Godsfave who will get you up and dancing. The night will close at 11pm allowing for those that want to be in bed by midnight.

An alt-electronica duo melting the boundaries of jungle, UK Garage, Trip-hop and house. Working collaboratively with other singers, poets, and artists, their music contributes to the growing environmental movement and a shared vision for a wilder world. “We call attention to nature's beauty. A journey without end, always searching, always in awe of an ever-changing sky.”Together Frankie Knight and Submyth have supported renowned artists such as Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Hollie Cook, and Young Fathers, and performed at notable festivals including Shambala and Victorious. Most recently opening for Kosheen on their UK tour.

Spinning an eclectic mix of Afrobeat, Afroelectronic, Techno, Percussive, Bass, and House music, Michelle aka Godsfave, curates a playful and energising dancefloor. As an artist, facilitator, DJ, performer, and activist, she uses creativity to break down borders and binaries that separate us from ourselves and each other. She views art as a communal practice, an act of hope and tool for radical imagination—a means to dream and create a better world.

12:00 - 2:00PM Walk at Farlington Marshes
Meet us at the car park for a walk at Farlington Marshes. During the walk sounds from the environment will be recorded and transferred to samplers for the workshop at Southsea Cinema.
5:00 - 7:00PM Synth and Sampler Workshop
Experiment with triggering and looping samples, mixing them with synths and drum machines with others in the group. There will be a mic for those that would like to contribute spoken word elements. Synths and samplers will be provided but bring your own sampler or synth if you wish. If you cannot join the walk you are still welcome to join the workshop. Led by Frankie Knight, a producer and singer-songwriter passionate about encouraging women and underrepresented individuals in electronic music. This workshop is designed to be playful, fun, and non-judgmental, giving everyone a voice.
