The Power of Positivity Workshop with Jon Bolden (S3 25)
Agreement is a foundational principle in improvisation. This workshop explores how starting with positivity, aligning as scene partners, and embracing agreement can quickly lead to richer, more collaborative scene work. By minimizing early conflict, we avoid unnecessary roadblocks and allow scenes to evolve with greater ease and momentum. Originally developed for a specialized improv project in the 2010s, this approach has since grown into a series of targeted exercises that frame positivity not just as context, but as a deliberate style of play.

ABOUT JON BOLDEN
(He/Him)
Jon began teaching improv in the early 2010s in Austin, TX at The Hideout Theatre and co-produced The Out-of-Bounds Comedy Festival. He has since traveled to London, Japan, Switzerland, Germany, among others, to teach and direct niche forms of improvised theater and comedy. His favorite classes, however, will always be working with newcomers and watching them gain confidence, awareness, and the power of being present. He strives to make everyone feel comfortable, safe, seen & heard.
