Andrew Oliver Trio
Andrew Oliver is a pianist from Portland, Oregon, specializing in stride piano, 1920s jazz and blues, ragtime, and tango. His playing is energetic and authentic, drawing on the styles of pianists such as Jelly Roll Morton, James P. Johnson, and Earl Hines to deliver a stomping style which emphasizes the exciting groove that brought jazz to the forefront of popular music in the 20th century.
Andrew is the founder of the Portland Jazz Composers Ensemble, a 2012 Chamber Music America New Jazz Works recipient, and an Oregon Arts Commission fellow. He also performs and composes a wide variety of music ranging from Argentine tango to modern jazz but with a strong focus on 1920s jazz and classic tango styles.

Portland’s love affair with jazz is being rekindled in iconic fashion as The Benson Hotel launches The Benson Jazz Revival — a free weekly event celebrating musical artistry and creative culture. This celebration brings smooth sounds, community connection, and cultural vibrancy back to the heart of downtown.

Supported by a growing roster of cultural partners and sponsors — including The Jack London Revue, The Portland Skanner, Soul’d Out Productions, and MusicPortland — the series serves as a vibrant call to return downtown and rediscover the energy that makes Portland unforgettable.
As the city continues its resurgence, The Benson Jazz Revival offers a joyful reminder that when music, people, and place come together, magic happens. The Benson Jazz Revival is a free weekly event. Featured artists include Shirley Nanette, George Mitchell, Julianne Johnson, Andrew Oliver, Chris Brown, Kerry Politzer, Noah Simpson, and Lilla.
