Born in the historic city of Le Mans in France’s Loire region, Gerard Philippon has always had an eye for beauty and a passion for design. His journey has taken him across continents and coasts—from Washington, D.C. to the Florida Keys, to Aspen, Colorado, and finally to the Pacific Northwest, where he found his creative home in Oregon in 1997.

With a background steeped in European aesthetics and a flair for innovation, Gerard launched a series of interior design and furniture stores in Portland and Seattle. His vision culminated in the opening of Versailles Gardens in 2007, a space that reflects his refined taste and commitment to craftsmanship.

In 2022, VG expanded with the addition of the LAMS glasshouses, a stunning architectural feature that blends art, nature, and design—further cementing Gerard’s reputation as a pioneer in the world of interiors and lifestyle.

Today, Gerard continues to inspire with his unique blend of French elegance and Pacific Northwest sensibility, creating spaces that are as functional as they are beautiful.
