BrassRoots Movement is Portland’s premier New Orleans-inspired brass band, channeling the vibrant spirit and infectious energy of the Big Easy into the heart of the Pacific Northwest. Founded in 2010 by trumpeter Logan Thane Brown, the band has become a fixture of the local music scene, known for high-energy performances that get audiences on their feet.
With an authentic sound that blends funk, jazz, and classic New Orleans grooves, BrassRoots Movement has lit up stages at iconic events like the Waterfront Blues Festival, Music on Main, the Portland Mardi Gras Ball, McMenamins UFO Festival, Polka Dot Downtown Portland, and the Hult Center’s Party on the Plaza. Whether leading a jubilant second line parade, energizing a private celebration, or firing up a festival crowd, the band delivers unforgettable experiences that bring people together through the universal language of music and dance.

About Music on Main
On Wednesday evenings in July and August, Portland’5 takes advantage of the summer weather in Portland to present the Music on Main concert series. The free outdoor concerts are held on Main Street next to Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall—between Southwest Broadway and Park Avenue in downtown Portland—and feature popular local musicians playing a diverse collection of music.
Music on Main is open to the public and the concerts run from 5pm to 7pm. All ages are welcome. Seating is available on a first come, first-served basis—tickets are not required.
Food & Drinks Available
Food and drinks (including alcohol for those 21+ w/ ID) are available on site. Tables are reserved for food and beverage patrons. Table service begins at 4pm.
