Meet Eisner Award-winner ARON NELS STEINKE!

Aron’s work is featured in our inaugural exhibit. You can see his process to create the cover of his book SPEECHLESS—a story about Mira, a middle schooler struggling to find her voice.
Aron Nels Steinke is a cartoonist and former elementary school teacher who lives in Portland, Oregon. In 2015 he and his wife Ariel Cohn won the Will Eisner Comic Industry Award for their book The Zoo Box (First Second Books). His bestselling and award-winning Mr. Wolf’s Class series (Scholastic/Graphix) follows the adventures of a class of fourth graders and their teacher who just so happens to look like a wolf. The much anticipated sixth book in the Mr. Wolf’s Class series will publish on August 4, 2026. His newest book SPEECHLESS (Scholastic/Graphix) is available now in our museum shop!
