Focused Music Workshop

Come join us for a two-day music workshop on July 19th and Aug 2nd where we will study compositional skills, production and performance techniques with award-winning composer Liz Myers.

Whether you're a composer just starting out or an experienced performance musician wanting to refine your skills, get "outside of yourself" and focus your ears and eyes on what your music is saying, this workshop will benefit you. There will be feedback from the Instructor immediately on how they feel you can make your musical communication better and more focused as to what you are trying to convey.

Note this is a two-day event. We meet on Saturday, July 19th at 9 am - 12 pm and return two weeks later on August 2nd to share our improved works. The workshop will be held at Lincoln Hall on the campus of Portland State University, providing a creative and inspiring atmosphere for all participants. The $50 fee covers both days, and if you cannot make the 2nd meeting, the Instructor will accept your work by e-mail and follow up with you directly by Zoom at a later time.

Our instructor, Liz Myers, is an expert in the field of commercial and film music, as well as being classically trained by Nadia Boulanger in France.
