24 Accordion Marathon. ‘Box-A-Thon’!
We are pleased to announce that Ulster Accordion Bands will be hosting a 24 hour accordion marathon, commencing at 8pm on Friday the 2nd of May, running all through the night and the following day, finishing at 8pm Saturday the 3rd of May, in Saint Columba’s Hall, Loughgall Road, Portadown, County Armagh. This will be in aid of two charities, Cash 4 Kids NI and Light of Foot.
Cash 4 Kids provides much needed support to families in our community and aims to improve the lives of disadvantaged children who are affected by poverty, illness, neglect or have additional needs.
Light of Foot is a charity that was started by bands people for bands people. They provide support for bands people suffering from mental health problems, as well as spreading suicide awareness and prevention.
This will be a great success no doubt and an excellent opportunity for us to display all that’s good about our band scene. Not only will we be able to work together in raising much needed funds for two great causes, we will also be able to display our generosity and generate some positive promotion and publicity for our community. 🪗.
We will be kicking off the event with a non-stop open session from 8pm until 10pm. Following this we have a performance schedule for the rest of the event, broken up into 15 minute slots. You can take as little or as many as you please!!
