This open mic is a mixture of every writing genre, style, form, perspective and content from fiction to memoir to poetry, unpolished to polished, unpublished to published. Writers of all steps along the writing path are welcome! Please don't be shy—we have wonderful, supportive audiences!
This month's optional theme is “swimming”: think metaphor, riptide, near-drowning, fear of, floating, sinking, the shallow end, surrender, diving, freedom, lessons, currents, etc.
We will not have featured readers this month and will instead have 2hrs of pure open mic! There will be 20-24 readers, each reading for five minutes, names drawn out of a hat. Your name must be dropped into the hat by 2:50pm.
Free event and open to the public. Oh, and there’s free parking! All gratitude to the Friends Meeting House for allowing us to use this beautiful space!
