Hikoi at Hikaroroa / Mt. Watkin Scenic Reserve

Join us for a guided walk through the DCC Scenic Reserve at Hikaroroa / Mt. Watkin. This is a great opportunity to explore one of the last stands of old-growth forest in the area, significant for its kowhai-broadleaf and totara-matai forests.

Led by Jamie Hickling, Project Coordinator for the Hikaroroa / Mt. Watkin Conservation Group, the walk will highlight the unique ecological values of Hikaroroa, the biodiversity we’re working to protect, and the next steps for the conservation project.
