38th Port Arthur National Maritime Day Observance

The 38th Port Arthur National Maritime Day Observance will be celebrated in two parts:
Part One: 10:00 a.m. at the Seamen's Memorial Sundial (1000 4th Street, Port Arthur). There will be the annual observance and the laying of a wreath in honor of our merchant mariners who have died over the past year.

Part Two: 11:30 a.m. at the Port Arthur International Seafarers' Center, 401 Houston Avenue, Port Arthur. The lunch is sponsored by the Port of Port Arthur and we will be recognizing our Sabine Pilots and the essential work they do to keep our Sabine-Neches shipping moving.

A decree will also be read that establishes the Port Arthur International Seafarers' Center's Seafarers' Chapel as a pilgrimage location for the Ordinary Jubilee Year of Hope for the people of the sea.
