Vancouver Island, prepare for a unique and dynamic listening experience for audience members of all generations! The E4 makes their island debut at Char's Landing, and features two sets of all original music which delicately balances between the old and new worlds of jazz. Think Bill Evans, Miles Davis, Cannonball Adderley, Philly Joe Jones and Paul Chambers meet Pat Metheny, Joshua Redman, Brad Mehldau, Christian McBride and Michael Brecker. The E4 is thrilled to connect with new audiences by sharing their musical stories that will leave a lasting memory for all who attend.

On Monday, the music is ongoing from 6pm-8pm. Doors open at 5pm. A voluntary suggested gratuity of $15-20 is appreciated. Attendees are welcome to bring their own snacks or supper. The beverage bar is open. Accompanied minors welcome.

The E4 connects with audiences by telling original stories that bring listeners together through an exhilarating and engaging experience — one that they can hold onto long after the performance passes. The E4 is a truly unique quartet to the Canadian music scene that breaks through the boundaries of the old and contemporary traditions of the jazz world through captivating modern harmonies, highly melodic material, and improvisatory language from the post-bop era. Led by jazz pianist Eric St. Godard, The E4 is slated to record their debut album at Studio Bell (National Music Centre) in Calgary In May 2025.
Pianist Eric St. Godard has made a name for himself in the Manitoba music scene as a band leader, solo artist, composer and educator. He has lead projects which have played at the TD Winnipeg International Jazz Festival, Mardis Jazz, and at Yardbird Suite in Edmonton, Canada. His newly formed quartet, The E4, will not stop short of having the most reputable jazz musicians in the province to bring forth a powerful force to be reckoned with in the Manitoba and Canadian jazz scenes.
