Race Rules and entry information.
Teams need to a build a raft that can be paddled across the pay to rescue a damsel. The raft must be self propelled, no engines allowed!
All rafts and their crew must be passed as “fit to go to sea” by our independent race scrutineer.
Extra points will be awarded for decoration and the best fancy dress!
No alcohol to be consumed during the race.
Buoyancy aids / Lifejackets to be worn at all times during the race.
Suitable footwear shall be worn during the race.
A maximum of 6 “paddlers” plus a damsel per team.
All teams must be registered 30 minutes prior to the race start.
No rafts are to be left on the beach after the race finishes. It is your team’s responsibility to dispose of your raft.
Rafts can arrive up to 1 hour prior to the race start (from 5.30pm). Marshalls will meet teams on arrival and direct you down the slipway to the side of the Mowlem. Cars or trailers cannot be left in the layby during the race and alternative parking will need to be found.
A voluntary donation of £5 per paddler is suggested. There is no charge for the damsel. This can be paid on the day.
