Pony 21st ANNUAL Horseback Poker Ride
Saturday June 14, 2025, 8:30 am – 1:30 pm
Riders out 9-10:30 am
$20/rider — $10/extra hand. Lunch not provided but available to purchase at food truck at the finish line by The Pony Bar.
Trail length is approx. 9.4 miles. Mix of gravel, trail and grass road and shallow water crossings with good footing.
The ride is held in the charming and historical town of Pony, Montana. (Last year’s rides was at Sitz’ Ranch outside of Pony so please note the change of location this year.) Pony is located about 45 minutes SE of Butte and 55 minutes SW of Bozeman. Take Hwy 287 to Harrison and turn onto Hwy 283 to Pony (

You must be at least 18 years old to purchase poker hands
Children (10 and under) ride for free
- Don’t bring dogs (fair warning; there are a lot of dogs in Pony, you might encounter loose dogs during the ride)
- Part of the ride is on a public (dirt) road. Expect fellow users incl. ATV, dirt bikes, hikers and mountain bikes.
- Bring your all-weather gear
- Water for horses available along the trail
- There is limited parking so please trailer together if possible
- A section of the trail is on Forest Service property
