Join the Center for Conservation Initiatives and local butterfly expert Linda Cooper for a morning all about the butterflies of The Nature Conservancy’s Disney Wilderness Preserve! For the past 30 years, Linda has been identifying and counting the butterfly and skipper species that call this preserve home—now it's your turn to experience their beauty firsthand!

This event is for those ages 14 and up.

Gates to the preserve open at 9AM.

• Lightweight, breathable clothing – Florida can be warm, so opt for moisture-wicking fabrics.
• Comfortable walking shoes – You'll likely be on trails, so closed-toe sturdy sneakers or hiking shoes are best.
• Hat and sunglasses – Protect yourself from the sun.
• Long sleeves and pants – For extra protection from insects and sun.

• Binoculars – To get a closer look at butterflies and other wildlife.
• Camera or smartphone – Capture the beauty of the preserve.
• Bug spray – Helps keep mosquitoes and other insects away.
• Sunscreen – Essential for sun protection.
• Water bottle – Stay hydrated during your visit.
• Field guide or notebook – If you want to take notes on butterfly species.
