A swim like no other....a 30 minute boat ride from Plymouth to the dramatic Great Mewstone in Open Water Devon's Safety RIB! As you approach the island, you'll feel the excitement build before we jump overboard to start the swim. The swim is 1km around the Mewstone—wild seascapes, and the raw beauty of nature surrounding you above water and under the water too. Once we've swam, we get back on board for hot chocolates snacks and getting changed before heading back into Plymouth.
We take a maximum of 6 on this adventure to keep the numbers small, personal, and minimize any environmental impact. We cannot climb out onto the Mewstone. If the weather is poor on Friday 29th August, everyone will be moved automatically Wed 10th September (meeting 8am) - please make sure you can attend both dates).
Things to consider: You need to be comfortable getting off the boat, via jumping/diving into deep water/bum sliding. The reverse of climbing back into the rib via webbing ladder and hand grips, or pulling up and over using upper body strength (see video attached to this booking page - scroll though images for demonstration). You will be sitting on the inflatable sponsons during the ride out to the Great Mewstone which takes around 30 mins.
Suitable for breaststroke, or front crawlers, you need to be happy swimming at least 1km and be happy in the water for 45 mins to 1 hour.
You will be contacted a week or 2 before your swim with details about the swim, and then again within 48h to confirm the swim, and give any details about weather etc.

REFUND POLICY:-
- If we need to cancel the first date, you will be moved to the optional date, if you cannot make the back up date we cannot refund/transfer.
-If we need to cancel the back up date too, we offer a full refund, or free transfer to other swims/events
-If you cancel 30 days before your swim we offer a full refund minus 10% admin fee per booking.
-If you cancel 14 days before your swim we offer a 50% refund
-If you cancel less than 14 days before your swim there is no refund
KIT TO BRING
- Towfloat (mandatory, can be hired for £3pp)
- Wetsuit and Swimsuit
- Goggles, earplugs, gloves, booties etc
- Hat (Provided)
- Car parking money (there are also free car parks)
- Post swim warm clothes in a small waterproof rucksack or bag
- Post swim food and drink (snack and hot drink are provided)
