MAJOR CHANGES: No Swim England pass needed, wetsuits optional, any front stroke allowed (breast stoke, front crawl, doggy paddle, butterfly etc), generous cut off times for all
The race is now under new joint management, between The Cove and Open Water Devon. The race format has changed a little, and we are hoping you will join us for unforgettable day in the water!
This event is raising money for the Brixham Lifeboat Station and also the Brixham Marlin's Swimming Club - stick around and see the U12's, U14's and U16's race their Club Championships from the beach at 1pm.
If you are a disabled or adaptive swimmer and would like to join us, please do get in touch so we can help organise your swim.
You'll first need to come and register at Race HQ at the Lifeboat station. After collecting your hat, and timing chip make sure you're ready to go at the start line for race briefing at 9.50am. You'll then enter the water to acclimatise and line up, starting on the gun. Swimmers wanting to race can start at the front of the pack for a sprint start. If you'd rather not be in the front, just hold back a few seconds, or we recommend being at the sides.
The course is 2km, swimming out along the breakwater, turning around the lighthouse, and swimming back into breakwater beach where you'll be greet by cheering fan, a sports drink, and medal. Get changed and enjoy your complimentary hot chocolate at The Breakwater Bistro right there on the beach.
This swim can be swim in 'skins' or wetsuit, and you can swim using any front stroke (front crawl, breaststroke...even butterfly and doggy paddle!)
