St. Bonaventure Book Club

Hello,

Thank you to all those who were able to join us on Monday to discuss Brideshead Revisited.
We had an interesting discussion about the deplorable behavior and attitude of many in the story, and yet the seed of Catholicism planted by Lady Marchmain stuck with her children throughout their lives and had an impact on those they interacted with including the narrator, Charles Ryder.
Evelyn Waugh has a beautiful style and his book Decline and Fall was recommended if you'd like to read more by him.

Our next Book Club meeting will be Monday, May 12th at 5:30pm in the Parish Center.
The book we'll be discussing is The Innocence of Father Brown by G.K. Chesterton. This is the first book in the Father Brown series and is comprised of many short mysteries.

Please note that while we are only reading The Innocence of Father Brown for our next meeting, the price on Amazon for The Complete Father Brown Stories is only $4.95, so it may be a worthwhile purchase if you'd like to read more of Father Brown.
