TITLE TOWN Soul & Funk Party with guest DJ Sauce Queen at Spirit

TITLE TOWN returns to Spirit with another edition of its vinyl-driven funky dance party on Saturday, August 2nd, 2025. 9pm - 2am

Every month, TITLE TOWN brings you five hours of hand picked selections of ‘60s and ‘70s funk, soul, disco, and more. This month is extra special. We’re stoked to welcome guest DJ Sauce Queen (aka Danielle Maggio) for her debut set at TITLE TOWN.

A DJ, writer, and vocalist with deep roots in the Burgh’s music scene, Sauce Queen is currently writing the definitive biography of funk legend Betty Davis and penned the liner notes for Light In The Attic’s 2023 reissues of Davis’s iconic albums. With a PhD in ethnomusicology and a crate full of wax, she brings deep knowledge and an undeniable groove to the decks—blending raw funk, global rhythms, and deep cuts with style and intention.

Residents DJ Gordy G. & J.Malls round out the night with top-shelf soul, deep funk, disco, and rare grooves—all on vinyl, all night long.

Bringing freshness to Pittsburgh’s clubs since 2009, TITLE TOWN stays true to its original sound, residents J.Malls & Gordy G. take you on a journey across the musical landscape - resurrecting deep soul, funk and disco cuts from the early-1960s through the late 1980s - mixing up rarities from Honey & The Bees, The Third Guitar, and Family of Eve with stone cold classics from Aretha, James Brown, Sister Sledge, The Spinners, Curtis Mayfield, Gwen McCrae and more.

As always, we gather to celebrate the power of music, the unique soulful, vibrant sounds on wax - dancing into the night together as party goers, crate-diggers, DJs, family - creating positive vibes, connecting with another, with open hearts and open minds.
