THEME.. Underrepresented Voices!!
This year, Steel Kitty is gonna switch it up. Instead of focusing only on women in music, we are going to focus on ALL UNDERREPRESENTED voices. If you know Deb Cook and Steel Kitty Productions , then you know that this is the heart of their Mission Statement.
So, what does that mean?
I want to hear songs written or sung by WOMEN, PEOPLE OF COLOR, AND QUEER SINGER-SONGWRITERS.

STEEL KITTY PRODUCTIONS is a music production company founded by Deb Cook in 2014, dedicated to empowering underrepresented voices in the music industry. Based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, we provide a platform and resources for women, people of color, and LGBTQIA2S individuals to create and share their music with the world. With a passion for amplifying marginalized voices and fostering a culture of inclusivity and creativity, Steel Kitty Productions has established itself as a trusted and innovative force in the music scene, producing high-quality music that inspires and uplifts our communities.
KTK is a local artist and spoken word poet who grew up in Westmoreland County. Her writing is deeply personal, elemental and sensitive, filled with pain and beautiful imagery tinged by darkness.
Performing since the age of three, CALLIOPE SPEVACK has moved through many spotlights including dance, theater, and operatic hip hop. She loves learning about things, from cannibalism to marine biology, and is still reaching out to the world around her for more.
Turns out being a teenager isn’t easy and art is a better coping mechanism than counting to ten.
AC SHOW DETAILS:
Doors open downstairs in Mr Smalls Café at 5 pm for checkin, Signups begin around 6:30pm, show from 7pm until 11pm. Full sound and light system with backline (drums, keys, guitar and bass amp) available, and a house band to back you up if you want!
