Auditions are open for all roles. We encourage actors of all backgrounds and identities to audition as we strive to reflect the diversity of our community and beyond.
About The Color Purple:
This musical adaptation of Alice Walker’s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel (and the popular 1985 Steven Spielberg film) spotlights Celie, a downtrodden young woman whose personal awakening over the course of 40 years forms the arc of this epic story. With a joyous score featuring jazz, ragtime, gospel, African music and blues, THE COLOR PURPLE is a story of hope, a testament to the healing power of love, and a celebration of life.

Please prepare the following for the audition:
32 bars of an upbeat song from a musical of your choice (not Spelling Bee). Please bring music track as we will not be having an accompanist for the initial audition. Make sure your phone is blue tooth compatible or bring a thumb drive.
Perform the a side of your choice if you are interested in a named character. Download the sides from our website. We want to hear your take on the character described in this document. This is just a single line or two. We prefer memorized, but you can hold the page in your hand.
Auditions appointments are scheduled in six minute time slots. The location will be added as soon as we confirm the audition location availability.
Must be 17 yrs or older to audition.
