Experiential learning at Farm in the Wildwood

See the wild plants that grow in your garden, field and lawn through new eyes as you learn about and discover common "W**d" species found in the Upstate SC. This experiential learning led by expert agriculture and forest instructor, Blake Berry, will take place in the cultivated and disturbed areas of Farm in the Wildwood as participants learn to identify common plant species by examining key characteristics. You may even learn how some can be useful! The class will also explore the ecological importance of weeds their role in healthy ecosystems.
Classroom instruction followed by an engaging garden and field walk will deepen your appreciation and understanding of this subject. You'll leave this class with new eyes for what is growing all around you!
This class is led by Blake Berry, local agriculture instructor and recognized 2021 SC agriculture teacher of the year. Blake has inspired and equipped students of many ages within our community in horticultural, forestry and agricultural instruction.

Duration: Approximately 2 hours
This is a guided walking plant ID class.
What to Bring: Comfortable walking shoes, water, a notebook, and curiosity!
Children must be accompanied by adult.
