Hannah Georgas

Hannah Georgas is a Canadian songwriter with a gently quirky style that navigates the spaces between melancholy indie rock and brighter, anthemic alternative pop. After her debut EP in 2009, Hannah released five full-length albums to acclaim in outlets at home and abroad including The Guardian, The New York Times, Pitchfork and NPR Music. Her efforts cut paths leading to multiple Juno and Polaris Award nominations, #1 song’s in Canada, Top 20 charts in US College Radio and an album collaboration with friend and producer Aaron Dessner (The National, Taylor Swift, Sharon Van Etten). Alongside each of these releases, Hannah toured extensively worldwide, performing with the likes of The National, Sara Barielles, Broken Social Scene, Emily King, Boy and Bear, Mother Mother and more. Rolling Stone describes her latest self-produced album I'd Be Lying if I Said I Didn't Care as "impressive and earnest songwriting" while AllMusic says it "stands as her best to this point in her career"

ABOUT THE VENUE
Sergeants Mess Hall

The 170-seat Sergeants Mess Hall at Base31 is the newest performance venue to open in Prince Edward County. This architectural gem has been renovated and repurposed as a unique and intimate concert venue, featuring state-of-the art sound and lighting, with its original historic charm and character retained. The Sergeants Mess Hall has a rich history dating back to its construction in 1939. The building was originally built as a mess hall for the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) No. 31 Bombing and Gunnery School during World War II. During the war, the building served as a gathering place for the sergeants who were stationed at the base. It was a place where they could relax, eat meals, and socialize with their fellow soldiers. After the war, the base was decommissioned and the building served a variety of purposes over the years, including as a community centre, a school, and a storage facility.
