Come along for a morning of discussion around the changes and challenges of continuing breastfeeding beyond the first year.
It can be hard to imagine how feeding an older baby or toddler could work for your family - especially as many mums find that some family and friends may begin to feel uncomfortable with the idea of breastfeeding beyond 12 months.
However, breastfeeding continues to provide benefits to both you and your child. If you aren't ready to wean you don't have to! Bring all your questions and we will share some information and ideas about how to manage breastfeeding your older baby or toddler.
Our meetings are very relaxed and casual. Topics may be adjusted to address those in attendance, and there will also be extra time to have further discussions, after the topic is covered.
We like to share some morning tea, so please consider bringing a plate to share, but if you can’t that is ok - please come along anyway.
We understand that babies run to their own clock, so arrive when you can and leave when you need to. Bring along some support people if you’d like and of course older babies and children are always welcome.
We meet in The Phoenix Room (first room to the right) in the Hervey Bay Neighbourhood Centre, each fortnight on a Thursday morning. Please follow our Facebook Page for updates.
