You be the judge. Based on the evidence, did the jury in this real historical trial get it right?
True Crime on Trial takes a deep dive into one of Chester County's most controversial cases, utilizing trial transcripts, newspaper reports, and evidence from the crime scene. Starting at 6:00pm, attendees can order craft beer, cocktails, and delicious bites from the regular menu (not included in ticket.) Historians from the staff of CCHC will present the evidence and give you, the audience, a chance to reach a verdict. At the end, we'll tell you how the case actually turned out.
Tickets are $20.00, which supports the ongoing mission of the Chester County History Center. Members of CCHC receive a 20% discount with code. Food, drinks, and gratuities are NOT included in this ticket. Once purchased, tickets are non-refundable.
Location: Since 2009, Bistro on Bridge has been serving its loyal customers an inventive food menu, the finest selection of craft beer, tasty libations and a relaxed atmosphere that crafts the perfect backdrop for dining, socializing or any special occasion in downtown Phoenixville. As of March 2018, Bistro on Bridge has been completely revamped from top to bottom, creating a look and experience unlike anything Phoenixville has ever seen. This program will be held on the second floor of the restaurant (there is handicapped access through a door in the back of the restaurant which may require a dropoff. For mobility concerns please reach out to us!)
Note: This is the same case we discussed at our Summer 2024 and Spring 2025 programs.
Warning: Material is graphic and not suitable for minors. There will be detailed discussion of injuries as well as mentions of self-harm and domestic violence.
