The time has come for community and business owners to show UP and speak OUT! On Wednesday, May 21 at 2:30pm, the 7's rush hour reverse lanes will be on the formal city council meeting agenda. We will be updating and adding more details for how to register to speak at the meeting as it gets closer. Though there will be options for virtual & phone comments, showing up in-person and en masse is always the most impactful - so PLEASE block your calendars to help get this across the finish line! If coming in person, please wear a red t-shirt or shirt to show your solidarity.
This has been a community-driven, multi-year (for some of us a decade and more) initiative to get the 7th St. & 7th Ave. rush hour reverse lanes removed so we can enjoy our local businesses without terror, not have cut through traffic in our neighborhoods, get to where we need to go without anxiety, not see head-on collisions regularly & get these outdated and dangerous lanes/signs that cause our streets to be used like highways out of our neighborhoods. They are dangerous by design, underutilized, and it's long past the time for them to go!

Please encourage your friends & neighbors to keep signing our online petition. We have more than 4300 signatures and nearly 50 businesses currently on board! You can read the update about the Citizens Petition I filed with the city this week, as well as info on another good Citizens Petition filed by Nicole Rodriguez that is focused on common sense pedestrian/cyclist safety measures:

Please invite everyone you know who hates this insane traffic set up! I did an interview this morning with ABC15 and we witnessed multiple near misses and chaos in the short time we were out on 7th Ave.
You can also start calling/emailing/tagging on social media your council person as well as Mayor Gallego to tell them you're in support of ENDING the 7's rush hour reverse lanes. You can find contact info here:

Thank you in advance.
* Note to those of you who weirdly love these lanes - I will remove your comments, so feel free to show up and give your opinion on May 21, as is your right.
