Before festival circuits and Beatport bragging rights, Gettoblaster and J.Phlip were just a couple of Midwest kids—drawn to Chicago not just for house music, but because it was the loudest thing within their reach. (plus Frank Thomas on the White Sox). Gettoblaster was already lighting up raves worldwide, blending dance music with turntablism on wax—while J.Phlip was in her living room, beatmatching on busted belt-drives and a janky mixer with no EQ—gear so bad it leveled up her skills fast. Different starting points, but their names started popping up on the same sketchy lineups— sharing a corner of underground history before either knew where dance music would take them.
Gettoblaster draws inspiration from the raw, rebellious spirit of Chicago and Detroit’s warehouse scene. Known for his signature sound—a fusion of heavy basslines, sharp percussion, and addictive hooks—he’s carved out a distinct space in modern house music. His tracks “H O U S E featuring Missy” on Superfet and “Phantom” on Too Many Rules #1, alongside every release landing in the top 100 and racking up millions of streams across major platforms. He’s also been recognized as one of the top 10 tech house artists by Traxsource.
On stage, Gettoblaster’s high-energy performances have earned him main stage slots at major festivals like North Coast Music Festival, Spring Awakening, Brooklyn Mirage, Movement, Lights All Night, and Breakaway, alongside staple sets at Dirtybird events like Campout, BBQ, and Camp Inn. His three-year residency at Discopussy in Las Vegas further solidifies his place as a force in the global house scene. Now he’s back at it with his new album, Acid Ice Cream, out on his label Aliens On Mushrooms. It’s a weird, wild ride of acid-laced grooves and rave nostalgia that proves Gettoblaster isn’t just here for the party—he is the party. Because let’s face it: you don’t become a legend by playing it safe. You earn it one sweaty dancefloor at a time.
In a scene of theatrical sync-enabled button-pushers chasing ever-higher peaks of DJ superstardom, J.Phlip is having none of it. She built her rep on fearless, genre-melting sets packed with bass, acid, punk-electro, bootytech—whatever she damn well pleases. She flips the script—and sometimes the bird—as easily as she flips from 4/4 kicks to breakbeats, taking you on a sonic joyride with zero regard for speed limits. A founding Dirtybird original since 2006, J.Phlip didn’t just help shape the label’s sound—she nurtured its ride-or-die community, fiercely protecting its scrappy, open-hearted ethos. From the legendary SF Golden Gate BBQs to building Dirtybird Campout from the dirt up, she's been central to creating one of dance music’s boldest and most beloved collectives. She’s lit up everything from Movement Detroit to EDC, Fabric London to Space Ibiza, Coachella to your grandma’s basement.
But forget the name-dropping creds —sometimes Jess would rather swing jump ropes. You’ll find her on festival cruises like Friendship (her fav), throwing down a Double Dutch sesh in the middle of the ocean—open to anyone—flanked by her East Bay partners-in-chaos, the Twerkaholicz. Their booty- powered madness nearly broke Dirtybird Campout as they rolled in on a gold-plated “Twerkulator” bus, after J.Phlip herself brought them into the flock in 2019. At Outside Lands, their set shoved "DJ culture" off the rails—colliding fast bpm beats, ass-jiggling acrobatics, and pure absurdity into a crowd-screaming blowout. Treefort in Boise got it—the dancefloor snapped into two hours of unfiltered “mosh-raving.” Jess isn’t here for your sunny-day vibes or safe dance moves. After far too many lost years—dragging herself through pandemic fallout—she’s back to start some shit.
For Paul and Jess, it’s never been about chasing fame or stacking bills—it’s about doing what they love with the people they love. They’ve been running their "Fries With That Shake" Tour, sippin’ Booty-Shakes, serving Double-Takes for real. All fries on deck? Check—let’s ride, we’re still deep in the meal.
