The event will take place on Tuesday, July 1, at 7:00 PM at FringeArts, located at 140 N. Columbus Blvd., Philadelphia, PA. The screening will be followed by a Q&A with Philadelphia filmmaker and producer Tony Heriza, director Deirdre Fishel, and Linda Szypula, whose story is featured in the film.
At its heart, Facing the Wind is a deeply moving love story—a tender, honest, and often humorous portrayal of individuals living with Lewy body dementia and their devoted caregivers. The film highlights the strength and spirit of a grassroots community that refuses to let the disease define them.
Facing the Wind made its U.S. premiere at DOC NYC (2024) and was recently featured in AARP’s Movies for Grownups (2025).
The film is executive produced by an extraordinary team of cultural icons, including Yo-Yo Ma, Renée Fleming, David Hyde Pierce, Mary Lou Falcone, and Bruce and Susie Kovner.
This special screening is made possible through the generous support of Presenting Sponsors Rothkoff Law Group, Susan Sherman and the Lewy Body Dementia Resource Center.
