Eat your way across the globe and across American and Philadelphian history on this walking food tour of Philadelphia!
About this EventFood is the common universal language of humanity. The more and more you travel the world the more you come to understand that you can tell a lot about a place and a group of people by the food they eat, the ingredients they use, and the techniques they employ. Join us for a extremely delectable, educational, and fun exploration of the food scene of Philadelphia. Along the way we will explore how the cuisine of the city evolved over time, welcoming in new generations of ideas and immigrants, all of whom left an indeible mark on the city and its flavors. We will SEEK out a wide swatch of ethnic and traditional American and Philadelphia fare, we will EXPLORE the impact and mingling of various cultures throughout the city's history, and we will WANDER through some of the most iconic food establishments and shops that help make Philly one of the true culinary capitals of the world.
This is a walking and eating tour of the city. Part of the cost of the tour is will go to purchasing small samples to taste or larger items to share with the group at stops. You are welcome to bring extra money (cash only at some places) and purchase more!
We happily can cater to individual preferences but please note this is NOT a kosher, vegeterian, vegan friendly, or restrictive diet tour!!! We respect everyone's palettes equally, but this is designed for the omnivores of the universe with a heavy emphasis on meats and sweets!
You do not have to participate and you do not need to purchase anything, though we highly recommend coming hungry and with an open mind and a willing mouth!
We will provide utensils, napkins, plates, wipes, sanitzier, and other necessary items but please note a lot of stops will require us eating on the streets and/or with our hands!
This tour features treats and eats from many different ethnicities and cultures including Italian, Canjun, Mexican, Peruvian, Brazilian, Ecuadorian, Vietnamese, and more as well as traditional American and Philadelphian cuisine.
Our itinerary includes world famous locations such as Reading Terminal Market, The 9th Street (Italian) Market in South Philly, Little Saigon, and more!
