A CELEBRATION OF QUEER ARTISTRY:
A QUIET ROAR OPENS AT HYATT CENTRIC
Pride Month Exhibit Features Bold Works By LGBTQIA+ Philly Artists
Keith R. Breitfeller, Brian David Dennis, and Patrick Michael Carrow
PHILADELPHIA, PA (May 14, 2025) – Hyatt Centric Center City Philadelphia, the upscale lifestyle hotel in Rittenhouse Square, is continuing its annual Pride Month celebration with the opening of , a multidisciplinary exhibition curated by InLiquid, featuring the work of three Philadelphia-based LGBTQIA+ artists: Keith R. Breitfeller, Brian David Dennis, and Patrick Michael Carrow. The exhibit runs from May 15 through July 14, with an opening reception on Wednesday, May 28 from 6–8 PM.
The public is invited to celebrate the opening of A Quiet Roar at the May 28 reception from 6 pm to 8 pm, where guests can enjoy complimentary light bites from Patchwork Restaurant and pay-as-you-go cocktails from the adjacent bar. All artwork and accessories on view will be available for purchase.
A Quiet Roar invites guests to reflect on themes of interconnectivity through color, form, and materiality. This multidisciplinary exhibition brings together the work of three Philadelphia-based LGBTQIA+ artists—Keith R. Breitfeller, Brian David Dennis, and Patrick Michael Carrow—whose practices are united by a deep, intuitive understanding of how objects and ideas relate. From hyper-saturated pointillist canvases and emotionally charged installations to sustainable fashion accessories crafted from upcycled textiles, each artist channels personal history and material sensibility into a broader meditation on connection. Whether in the shared studio practice of Breitfeller and Dennis, or the tactile storytelling embedded in Carrow’s handbags, A Quiet Roarmakes space for introspection and joy in equal measure.
Artists Keith R. Breitfeller and Brian David Dennis, partners in both life and art, offer a cohesive visual dialogue grounded in contrast and complement. Breitfeller’s paintings—comprised of countless individual dots in shifting color palettes—are influenced by pointillism and modernist composition, seeking a meditative stillness amidst sensory overload. Dennis’s multimedia installations, often built from salvaged materials, are energetic and transformative, drawing attention to the overlooked textures of everyday life. His work merges spontaneity with formal precision, guided by influences ranging from Josef Svoboda’s theatrical set design to the emotive intensity of Francis Bacon. Patrick Michael Carrow, founder of Patrick Michael Accessories, contributes a tactile dimension to the exhibition with his one-of-a-kind handbags crafted from surplus fabric swatches. With a discerning eye for pattern, texture, and proportion, Carrow allows the materials themselves to guide his design process, celebrating sustainability and individuality through wearable art.
“We’re proud to continue our partnership with InLiquid and to present A Quiet Roar during Pride Month,” said Elizabeth Fricke, Director of Sales and Marketing at Hyatt Centric Philadelphia. “This year’s exhibit showcases the quiet strength, creativity, and dialogue shared between artists who approach their practice with intention and love—both for their craft and for the community.”
