About the event

A Juneteenth Celebration
Celebrate with an evening of non-stop hits from the best of classic R&B starring The Temptations Revue, The Drifters & The Marvelettes!

About this Event

THE TEMPTATIONS REVUE! As former lead singer of the 'Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame' inductees, 'The Impressions', and with a reputation for having one of the most powerful voices in the R&B market, Nate Evans was specially selected by original Temptations' lead singers David Ruffin, Eddie Kendricks and Dennis Edwards to join the group. Following the passing of David Ruffin and Eddie Kendricks and with the untimely passing of Dennis Edwards, Nate Evans now leads the group with his soulful voice in this spectacular performance! This award-winning show is a musical extravaganza dedicated to one of the greatest Motown acts of all time and filled with the Temptations' hits that topped the charts, with all the moves and arrangements of the original Temptations' shows. Ride back to the day when one of the most iconic groups ever to hit the stage played to sell-out audiences and dazzled crowds worldwide!

THE DRIFTERS have managed to set musical trends and give the public 13 chart-topping hits, most of which are legendary recordings today. Though there has been subsequent formations of the Drifters that have splintered off from the original groups, Charlie Thomas was and remains one of the most notable lead singers. Charlie was lead singer on "Room Full Of Tears" and "When My Little Girl Is Smiling". He remained with the group until 1967, when Charlie Thomas and the Drifters was formed. With a nod to their undimmable success, Charlie Thomas' Drifters breeze from one Drifters favorite to another - and there are plenty of them! "On Broadway", “Up On the Roof", “This Magic Moment", “There Goes My Baby", “Under the Boardwalk", and “Save the Last Dance for Me" were some of their biggest hits! The legacy of the famous Charlie Thomas’ Drifters continues to make the same connection today. Rekindle those wonderful memories as we take you "back to the boardwalk"!

THE MARVELETTES were the first major successful act of Motown. Their single” Mr. Postman”, released in 1961, was the first number one released by a Motown act. As a girl group, they initially achieved popularity in the early to mid ‘60’s. Their hit ‘Don’t Mess with Bill”, along with “Mr. Postman” earned a million-selling Gold singles. Other hits include: “Too Many Fish In The Sea”, “My Baby Must Be A Magician”, The Hunter Gets Captured By The Game” and “Beechwood 45789”. Their catalogue of hits is quite expansive. Today the legacy of The Marvelous Marvelettes continues under the trademark and guidance of original member Katherine “Kat” Anderson Schaffner.

**HOSTED BY Local Radio Personality "Kool DJ Foot" and Sheriff Vanessa Crawford!
