OVERVIEW: The lead guitar player from “Moby Grape” Jerry Miller passed. On June 22th, there will be a concert “Tribute to Jerry Miller” held at the Phoenix Theater in Petaluma. The living members, Peter Lewis, and Don Stevenson will perform with their sons and daughter; Dan Abernethy; Joseph Miller; Arwen Lewis; Omar Spence, as the Moby Grape Family Band. Bob Mosley will be attending. Many musicians from all over have expressed interest in coming to the show and or performing out of respect for Jerry Miller and Moby Grape’s contribution. There will be a jam at the end of the show to accommodate these musicians.

BACKGROUND: Many considered Moby Grape to be the Beatles of the psychedelic generation (the 1960’s and 1970”s). All five members were songwriters and lead vocalists. Their first album, Moby Grape, had nine songs, each considered a hit. Many artists are lucky to have one or two hits on an album; Moby Grape had nine. They were in a category of their own.
