Contact Improvisation is a style of dance which explores the relationship between bodies and the space around them, with a focus on sensation and curiosity. In the fundamentals sessions we begin with guided facilitation to provide some structure and foundation in the practice. Beginners very welcome!
In this facilitated class Elizabeth Pedler leads a collaborative exploration of how the body behaves as a container of fluids, and how our skin bags can flow, squish, and squash towards movement in contact improvisation.
Elizabeth Pedler is a visual, conceptual, and socially engaged artist living in Boorloo / Perth. Her artworks range from community dialogues to videos, plant walks, food tastings, and interactive light and sound installations. She is also a long-standing member of the Perth contact improvisation community.
