Young artists ages 8 to 12 will enjoy a fun afternoon learning how to create their very own nature-inspired zines! Zines are small-batch, handmade booklets that encourage creative self-expression—and are meant to be shared.
We’ll begin by exploring tips and tricks for zine-making, including how to fold a simple booklet. Then we’ll head outside to explore the beautiful 577 grounds and gather bits of nature and inspiration. Once back inside, we’ll fill the pages of our zines with what we’ve discovered—drawings, flowers, leaves, texture rubbings, notes, stories, or anything else we imagine. When you make a zine, YOU make the rules!
Completed zines will vary in style and content, and each will be no larger than 4 inches by 6 inches—perfectly sized to carry and share.

Class Notes: This is a drop-off class. A portion of the session will take place outside on the 577 grounds, so please ensure your child is dressed for the weather and brings a water bottle.

Liv is 577's Summer Programs Intern, and a current student at Bowling Green State University earning her Bachelor's of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design. She takes inspiration from nature and everyday life to compose interesting and thoughtful images, and looks forward to sharing with others her love for alternative forms of creative expression.
