It’s a purpose that guides the 23-year-old Seattle native’s every mellifluous release, from the double-Platinum viral sensation “ily (i love you baby),” which has amassed nearly 3 billion combined streams, to his lush new single “City of Love” featuring Selah Sol. He’s gearing up for even more future-facing hooks throughout the rest of 2023, beginning with the upcoming single “Manzanita,” and continuing with a host of other releases. The young artist born Powell Aguirre grew up in a musically creative household and listened to artists like Swedish House Mafia, Skrillex, and deadmau5 in his formative years.
