PLA Welcome Event/White Spruce Tree Seedling Distribution

🗓️Saturday, May 3, 2025 9 AM – Noon or until seedling are gone (past years they were gone within a couple of hours - we suggest getting there early) See Note **

PLA participates in a Crow Wing County Soil and Water Conservation District (CWSWD) program to promote forestry in the watershed surrounding the Pelican Lakes. PLA purchases seedlings at a reduced rate from the county and distributes them to members and the public for planting. Over 2000 seedlings have been distributed in the last two years. Healthy forests filter rain water and reduce run-off, key factors for maintaining the cool, clean water needed to support our fisheries. These trees are purchased from the State of Minnesota at a reduced rate.

We do not sell them. We are not set up for that. This program is part of PLA membership and is free to members. (You do not have to own/live on the lake to be a member)

**Jim has been monitoring the order, but the DNR has provided limited information regarding the delivery date. While we aim to proceed on the scheduled date, we cannot guarantee it. If there are any changes to the date or location, we will notify you as soon as possible.
