Rookie Day/Night Schedule
Both tracks will be open sunrise to 9pm.
Lap timer and staff will be there from 5pm-9pm.
Rookie events are all about drivers of all ages that are new to R/C or R/C racing. Staff will be on-site to provide driving tips and answer any questions you may have about racing, classes, rules or car setup. The lap timer will be setup for this event so you can hear your lap times! Race against your friend’s lap times or practice improving your own lap time.
Have something that doesn’t quite fit into the race classes on our website? Bring it anyway! Ask a staff member if modifications to your R/C vehicle would be required in order for you to enter a race. Don’t have an R/C car? Head over to CRC Hobbies in East Peoria and pick one up!

Nothing larger than 1/8 scale is allowed on the Off-road track without permission please!
R/C vehicles larger than 1/8 scale CAN be used on the Multi-use Oval track.
There is no charge for this event unless you’re using a transponder in your car(s). $10 per person, per day if you’re using a transponder. We will also happily accept any donations you’re willing to give to the track so we can continue to keep our track open and available to the public.
Larger donations can be made on our website which will provide you with a public charity donation receipt that’s tax deductible!
We have a few transponders available to rent for $10 for the day if you would like to hear your lap times. We often have some used race tires available for rookies at no cost so you can try them on your car to experience the HUGE difference between actual race tires and basher tires.
Experienced racers are always welcome at Rookie events but we ask that you use extreme caution while practicing when new drivers are on the track. If you have any used tires you’d like to donate to the rookies, please take them to a staff member.

10:50am: Driver’s Meeting
11:00am: Qualifying Begins
Club Races are races are events in which we race whatever classes we have enough entries for and sometimes create new ones if needed. The only prize is bragging rights. (no trophy)
Spectators: Always FREE!

All River City Raceway events are open to the public and free to spectators. Membership is not required to enter races, but discounts and additional perks are available for members.
