Plein Air with Maureen Church

Join Maureen Church, one of our 2025 Featured Artists, for this “Try Plein Air” workshop. We will begin at the Arts Center for a quick overview and discussion of Maureen’s featured art on display in the gallery. We will then venture out to our gracious host Sandy Cook’s hilltop property overlooking Keuka Lake. Participants will get a feel for the experience of painting outdoors, choosing a point of view, deciding what to include in a composition and what to let go—all while working quickly in a live scene. The focus is on having fun with the experience rather than being concerned with the finished painting. Maureen will share knowledge and provide encouragement. Students should bring a bag lunch. Some supplies will be provided. Please contact the Arts Center for a full list of supplies needed. Ages 16+. SOME painting experience required. $90 members, $115 not-yet-members
