Ready to kick off your high school referee career? Join us for our New Referee Class happening on August 9, 2025 at the Stutson Street Event Center. This in-person event will cover all the basics you need to know to get started officiating high school games. Whether you're a former player, coach or just looking to stay involved in the game or just starting out, this class is perfect for you. Don't miss out - register now to secure your spot!

Whether you are an experienced US Soccer Referee or someone who would like to become a High School Soccer Referee this is a great way to participate in one of the most exciting and competitive sports environments a community offers.

The Monroe County Public School Athletic Conference continues to expand the use of a conventional three (3) person referee crew for the 2025 season. We are very excited and proud that we are one of the largest high school sections that use the 3-person referee crew throughout the entire season.

The Central Western New York Board of Approved Soccer Officials ("CWNYBASO") is offering a NEW High School Soccer Referee class on AUGSUT 9, 2025, at the Event Center, 75 Stutson Street, Rochester, NY 14612.

The CWNYBASO NEW High School Soccer Referee Class will provide you with all of the tools and information you will need to start officiating high school junior varsity and varsity competitions in our area (Section V). After successful completion of the class, National Federation of High Schools Rule Test, and background check requirements, you will be eligible to referee this fall 2025.

The cost of the class is $90.00 (plus transaction fee). Class registration is paid at the time of register for the class.

You will also be required to obtain background and fingerprint clearance from the New York State Education Department. If you currently hold a New York State West Youth Soccer Association Risk Management Pass, that DOES NOT qualify. You MUST obtain clearance to be a Sports official through New York State.

1) Establish a TEACH account through the New York State Education Department's TEACH Online Services System. Visit http://www.highered.nysed.gov/tcert/teach/login.html

2) Fingerprinting is done through Morpho Trust, a statewide vendor managed system. To find locations and schedule an appointment, go to: www.identogo.com and click on New York State on the map or call (877) 472-6915.

We suggest that you complete the background check and fingerprint clearance now.

The cost of the class DOES NOT include referee uniforms. Information regarding the high school uniform will be provided at the class. Game fee information will also be provided at this time.
