The Enliven Festival Community invites you to gather to celebrate the ancient Celtic tradition of Samhain - a time where the veils between the spirit world and the material world thin, and we honor our ancestors, the natural cycles of grief and death, and celebrate the final harvest of the year.
This is NOT your typical Halloween party. This is an honoring of the old ways, a chance to be in ceremony, community and in deep connection with nature. If you joined us for Beltane, this is the sister celebration which marks the “Witches’ New Year”.
Our intention is to come together, to cultivate our central hearth fire which represents the resilience of our people, to face discomforts together, dance, cry, feast, tell stories, witness each other in our truest form, and leave this gathering feeling less alone as we enter into the dark season of the year.

Offerings:
- Samhain Feast - Let’s celebrate the harvest! We are offering a whole pig roast (raised by Vince on the farm where we’re gathering) & local root vegetables cooked over open flames, included with admission. Bring your costumes to the feast!
- Ancestral Potluck - Join a group of 10 when you sign up - the invitation is for each person to bring a dish from, & share stories about their family, ancestry or cultural lineage.
- Grief & Death Fire Ceremony - Enter into relationship with the darker aspects of being human that we all share, let go with loving witness in community.
- DJ’s, Dancing, Live Music - As always, we balance our deep dives with celebration and lightness, we’ll have some incredible local DJs spinning a variety of genres, as well as performances from local musicians.
- Talent Show & Jams - share your gifts with the community, bring your talents to display at the talent show, and connect with talented musicians to make emergent magic together!
- Candle Making Workshop - infuse your intentions into a memento to take home with you.
- Pumpkin Carving Contest - BYO pumpkin and carving skills, the best pumpkin (by vote) will win a ticket to next year’s event!
- Central Bonfire - we’ll keep a large fire going throughout the weekend, and provide a large stretch tent to keep us warm and cozy!
- Wood Fired Sauna - we’ll have multiple saunas set up for your enjoyment throughout the weekend! Sauna weekend passes will be for sale for $20 separately through the Finnish Sauna.
- Fire Performance - as night falls we will have talented performers taking the stage to show off their fire spinning skills!

- Friday Oct 31st @ 12:00pm - Sunday Nov 2nd - Pemberton Meadows - exact location will be sent out to ticket holders prior to the event.
Expression:
Your authentic voice, your movement, and your presence are all medicine in this container and will be encouraged, and celebrated! There’s no right way to show up at Samhain — only an invitation to bring yourself, fully. We encourage you to get creative with your costumes - search Samhain outfits and see what inspires you - traditionally the Celtic people would dress in a way that was meant to scare off malevolent spirits or confuse them so that they wouldn’t steal the children!
Responsibility:
This is a gathering that we all hold, together. Please be present and intentional in how you show up: this means caring for the earth beneath our feet, keeping the fire sacred (not throwing garbage in it), and showing up with integrity - be kind, take care of yourself and each other!! We encourage sober partying or intentionally consuming (legal) plant medicines that you feel connected to in order to maintain a safe space and good vibes for everybody. Please, absolutely no substances during or before the ceremony. This is also a leave no trace event, we ask that you leave the land the same as (or better than) you found it.
Amenities:
We are gathering on private land, and we will have outhouses, toilet paper and running water for you to use. There are no showers on site, and there is no cell signal at the venue. Car camping is permitted, as well as RV camping for an additional fee.
