Crokinole Night

Join us every Tuesday at 6:30PM for Crokinole Night at Valhalla Board Game Cafe!

Crokinole (KROH-ki-nohl) is a traditional dexterity game with elements of shuffleboard and curling. In this 2-4 player game, players take turns flicking quarter-sized wooden pucks across a target-shaped board with the goal of getting as close to the center as possible while also knocking opponents’ pucks off the board or lower-scoring regions. Once all pucks have been shot, those left on the board are counted and the player with the most points wins!

At its core, the game sounds simple. However, the metal bummer pegs surrounding the center circle of the board adds a level of challenge, providing an opportunity to force your opponent into taking increasingly difficult shots. Conversely, this aspect of the board also provides opportunity to create cool and complex shot combos that will even have your opponents cheering. In the words of Crokinole board builder and competitive player Jeremy Tracey “Officially, the objective of Crokinole is to score more points than your opponent. Unofficially, the objective is to make your shots awesome and exciting and leave your opponent with super frustrating shots.”
