IVAAC Memorial Tour to Hannibal, MO

This year’s Memorial Tour will take us out of state overnight approximately 150 miles from Peoria. We’ll leave from the parking lot at the Denny’s Restaurant in North Pekin along Rt. 29 at 9:00 in the morning on Saturday, June 21st.

From there, we’ll head southwest on some relatively quiet roads through some small towns and continue on to the area of Illinois known as “Forgotonia” and end up in Pittsfield, Illinois, the capitol city of Pike County for some sight seeing, and visit a local antique store for some possible shopping. Then we’ll continue west to Louisiana, Missouri and eventually head north to Hannibal, the home town of Mark Twain’s boyhood home.

In Hannibal, we’ll stay at the Baymont Inn at 4141 Market St. Please call (866) 994-7339 to make reservations for this motel. It includes an indoor pool and hot tub plus a continental breakfast the next morning.

On Sunday morning, June 22nd, we’ll check out of the motel and head to Mark Twain’s boyhood home. The cost to tour the home is about $10 per person. Following our tour of this landmark, we’ll head back home on I-72 East to I-55 North to I-155 home.
