Creating a Paradise with Flowers

Increase your success in growing flowering pollinator plants by taking this beginners session to "seed starting". Flowers attract pollinators, such as bees and butterflies, that will increase your vegetable and fruit crop yield while also beautifying your garden.

Presentation Topics:

• Selecting flower seeds
• Benefits of starting flowers from seed, where to purchase seeds
• Demonstration of sowing technique, watering and fertilizing
• When to transplant seedlings into the ground
• Seed saving

Germination techniques apply to flowers and vegetable crops. Whether you're a beginner or an intermediate gardener, we encourage you to join us and share this event with others!

UGC Guidelines:

• Parents/guardians must provide supervision of minors during the event to ensure their safety and security.
• All participants will be asked to sign a UH consent waiver form.
• Bring drinking water to stay hydrated.
• Wear appropriate outdoor attire: shoes and sun protection.
• Only guide dogs are allowed at UGC. No pets allowed.
• The back gardens are closed to self-tours.
