A young Puerto Rican is on trial for his father’s murder, and 11 of the 12 jurors have voted him guilty. The sole opposing vote comes from Juror No. 8 (Henry Fonda), who persuades the others to reconsider, showing the motivations of each juror.

This film is presented as part of our Board of Trustees Film Series. In 1971 Norton Simon married Academy Award–winning actress Jennifer Jones. When the Norton Simon Museum opened a few years later, some familiar names in Hollywood were appointed to its board of trustees. In honor of the Museum’s 50th anniversary, enjoy a series of films selected from the extraordinary creative output of some of those trustees. Presented on select Friday evenings from May to July.
