Monday to Friday, July 14-18, 10:30am-2:30pm
In this fun week long course we will practice wheel throwing and hand
building pottery techniques. We will make cups, bowls, plates and a
few other projects. You will decorate all of your projects using coloured
slips (clay paint), then I will clear glaze and fire them in my kilns. Later
you will return to pick up your completed, fully functional pottery which
will be safe for use in the microwave, oven and dishwasher. We will
also do a special outdoor Raku firing on the last day!
Our time will be focused on creating and finishing wheel thrown
pottery, with emphasis on the learning process, practice, and quality
over quantity. A few hand building projects will be included. All clay (˄6
Mid Smooth Stone), tools, aprons, art supplies and other materials are provided and included in
the course fee, participants will not have to bring anything, You can expect to go home with 6-12
pottery pieces, lots of ideas, new skills, probably some recipes, new friends and good
memories!

from each other. Beginners will enjoy seeing what can be done at different levels, while more
