August Meeting- Old Family Objects

At the Christmas meeting last November, members were invited to bring along an old object in their family memorabilia, for some genealogical ‘speed dating’!
Annette will talk about a long-forgotten dance card tucked away in an old envelope.
Sharon has a piece of stone from the old house where the O’Shaughnessy’s lived in Slievedooley Townland, Co Clare.
Linley will talk about a tiny 1860s tin-type photo of a child, who later became a watchmaker in Hull, Yorkshire.
Cherie has a 100-year-old cookbook with a secret about its owner’s occupation. Lilian Ross 1896-1978 brought her well-worn copy of Mrs Beeton’s Cookbook from England to New Zealand in 1925.
Doors open 6.45 for meeting at 7.30pm
