The race started in 1977 with 437 entrants and had the largest turnout in 1991 with 1696 runners . The course is one of the main reasons for the Jog's notoriety. It is generally considered to be flat, fast and accurate. National age-group, as well as hundreds of personal records, have been set on its friendly confines.
