Workshop Overview:
Join us for an immersive, hands-on experience in Kratky hydroponics at Hydroponic Hut’s working farm. This workshop is designed to teach you how to grow your own food efficiently and sustainably, all while connecting with a community dedicated to combating food insecurity in Hawai‘i.
What You’ll Learn:
Seed to Harvest:
Understand the essentials of germination, seedling development, and integrating plants into hydroponic systems.
DIY System Building:
Gain hands-on experience with power tools to create custom hydroponic setups and learn about the importance of reservoirs.
Pest & Safety Management:
Identify common pests like slugs and insects that can harm your plants. Learn about rat lungworm disease, its risks, and how to create safety barriers to protect your produce and yourself.
Sustainable Growing:
Discover how to recycle growing media and cultivate perennials and a variety of other vegetables without the need for greenhouses.
Community Engagement:
