Welcome Reception For Quilter Mary Margaret Pettway & New Gee's Bend Exhibition

Join us for a FREE event, sponsored by the Paducah-McCracken County NAACP, in which you'll have access to the museum’s galleries, including the newly opened exhibition "Whiles I Yet Live: Matriarchy and Generational Exchange in Gee’s Bend."

You'll also have the opportunity to hear an artist talk by Gee’s Bend quilter Mary Margaret Pettway that will be moderated by Amina Watkins, 1st Vice President of the Paducah-McCracken County NAACP. In addition, Hors d’oeuvres will be served.

The Guest Curator for the exhibition, Starasea Nidiala Camara of Brooklyn, New York, will also be present and eager to discuss these quilts and the traditions of Gee's Bend, Alabama.
